Hints and tips showing how to pass level 1017 Candy Crush Soda Saga without boosters by Cookie
Chocolate! Lots of chocolate to clear in two colours.
Level 1017 needs lots of good combos to pass, fish are fine if they make themselves, but try to switch them with another special candy or better still just let them be set off by your other combos so you are not wasting a move just to clear one piece of chocolate.
Stripe/wrap combos, colour bomb combos and cascades are the way to go with this chocolate. You can use one move to make a special candy without clearing any chocolate, but then you need to clear chocolate with the next move either by using the special/combo or matching beside the chocolate.
You just can't afford to let the chocolate grow too much. Get rid of the brown chocolate as soon as possible as this will give a bit of respite from the chocolate takeover.
Once the brown choc is gone keep making those combos and work down into the bottom of the board so you will get cascades, this will clear chocolate without using your moves.
Check the board carefully before every move so you don't miss any good combos as chasing chocolate by matching next to it won't be enough to clear it all.
This is not a hard level so you should do it in a few tries.

I am convinced that this take a rainbow kimmy to beat. Get one to start with and it will erase everything. Try to beat this level conventionally and the chocolate just gets harder (more hits to break).
It does not need a rainbow kimmy. I have just done it without one. I did have a couple of colour bombs that were a great help.
