You have 40 moves to clear all the bubble gum, which seems a lot to begin with, but the moves soon go if you don't take care and plan your moves.
Start by opening up the top part of the board, this will make it easier to make special candies and combos, which you will need if you are to have any chance of clearing level 1086.
There are only 5 colours on the board so it is not too hard to make the combos and it is always worth letting the bubblegum grow for a move or two while you are making a combo.
Don't let the bubblegum take over while you are trying to make combos though, you can afford to leave it for a couple of moves, but not too many.
Work as close to the bottom of the board as you can to take advantage of any cascades caused by your moves.
When you are down to just a few pieces of bubblegum you can use fish if they are in hard to get places, the fish will always target the bubblegum before anything else.
