You need to look really carefully at the candies covered by the bubblegum as it can be really hard to see patterns when the colours are partly obscured.
Other than that work as close to the bottom of the board as possible and try to get stripes beside the wrapped candies in the middle of each side.
Bubblegum isn't hard to remove, but it will keep growing back every time you make a move without hitting any.
Fish switched with other special candies are always useful as they will target the bubblegum and take the stripes or wraps where you need them.
