Before the jam begins to spread try to get a couple of fish switched with vertical stripes, these will hopefully take a layer of frosting from the two side columns which have the thickest frosting.
Once the jam begins to spread get the middle part of the board covered as quickly as possible and at the same time use combos to clear the frosting at the bottom and sides.
You will get wrapped candies from the dispensers at the bottom which are very useful for clearing the sides and if there is jam under them they will go a long way towards spreading the jam up the sides.
Fish are always the most useful specials on jam levels as they will take the jam to hard to get places.
Look carefully at the whole board so you don't miss any chances to make colour bombs, as these are really good for spreading jam, especially if switched with anbother special candy.
